Adventurer Camper Rebuild
Our First Major Rebuild
This Adventurer Camper was exposed to our West Coast climate with compromised sealants. Lack of maintenance can lead to nasty water damage in our environment. The insulation many manufacturers use is fiberglass batt; the yellow stuff you see in the pictures. While this insulation is effective at keeping the heat in your unit, it can also act like a sponge keeping the inside of your unit saturated with water, weeks after the rainfall. When we rebuild walls we use SM Styrofoam which is much more water resistant and acts as an added layer of protection to wick the water away. When a unit is compromised to this degree the common misconception is that your unit is worthless and it's time to try to trade it in for another one. Rebuilding is a very cost effective way to restore your coach to a better than new state. It also comes with other advantages; when you rebuild you know the product that you have at the end of the day, whereas if you purchase another unit you are potentially taking on someone else's problems. This camper has been rebuilt better than new and will be available for many more years of enjoyment, at a fraction of the cost of replacing it. |
